My research interests focus mainly on Human-Computer Interaction with the goal of tackling accessibility issues, making information and systems reachable to people with special needs.

I began my research career in 2010 when I was involved in an European project named GUIDE (“Gentle User Interfaces for Elderly people”). In this project I developed an Intelligent Multimodal Fission Engine that enabled automatic output adaptations in the User Interface of TV based applications according to the user’s characteristics and environmental context.
More recently I have worked on gesture recognition systems. In 2013 I have developed a classifier for recognition of gestures that could involve all human body through video image processing devices (e.g. Microsoft Kinect).

In March 2014 I have started my PhD with the goal of easing the interaction of people with visual impairments when interacting with their mobile devices by appropriating the body (e.g. skin or muscle activity) as an interactive platform.
